Yet another family car, with an impossible to pronounce name, is joining the line of Peugeot offered in the UK for the average 3.8 member British family: the Bipper Tepee. The five seater will be offered in two engine choices, one diesel and one petrol, both with the same 1.4l displacement.
The diesel engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an electronically controlled 5 speed one, while the petrol version will only come with the manual version.
The Bipper promises just about what you would expect from a "playful space wagon" in terms of performance; not much, as the diesel engine develops only 70 bhp.
Yet, what it lacks in terms of performance is balanced by the Bipper's other attributes. The car offers a 884 liters load capacity, thanks to the 60 / 40 split rear bench, two sliding side doors and a glazed rear tailgate for easier access. The aforementioned "lazy' engine has an upside too: it can go 62.8 mpg (4.5l/100 km), a not at all bad offering for a family guy...
The safety of the driver, his wife and their 1.8 children is insured thanks to driver, passenger and side airbags, front and rear inertia reel seatbelts, ABS and Isofix.
The Bipper will come in a choice of two trim levels, S (petrol) and Outdoor (petrol and diesel). They both feature MP3 player, power steering, remote control central locking and electric front windows.
The Outdoor trim adds raised suspension, larger body sill protection moulding, under–body engine protection plate, fog lights and air conditioning.
