Peugeot have just announced the Q2 2013 launch of an all-electric variant of their Partner commercial vehicle. It will compliment the range, offering their customers an additional and very interesting option over the regular petrol and diesel powerplants usually offered with similar vehicles.
It features a 49 kW (67 hp) / 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) electric motor which should offer diesel-like levels of acceleration which draws energy from a 22.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which Peugeot claims will give it a range of 170 km (105 miles) on the European test cycle. It also features a separate auxiliary consumption gauge for the heating and air-con, regenerative braking, as well as a specially designed heating system which is designed to be as efficient as possible. ESP is also standard on all Partner Electrics.

Pricing is yet to be announced, but with Peugeot’s recent financial problems, they will undoubtedly want to become a major player on the European EV market, so we say it will be more affordable than you think.
