After the Human Motorcycle sculpture made headlines all over the world about a week ago, we decided to feature another very interesting story along the same lines.
This time it was the Motor Accident Commission of South Australia who commissioned the work: a vivid sculpture made of human bodies that represents a crashed car. The idea here is to raise awareness about low-level speeding and the hazard this poses, especially to pedestrians.
To create this fantastic body sculpture, they enlisted the help of Emma Hack, who did the famous body paint in the Gotye – Somebody That I Used To Know music video.
It took her and her team no less than 18 hours to put everything together. Each of the 17 people that made up the sculpture had to be coated in up to five layers of body paint in different shades.
