Oshkosh Receives $410M Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles Delivery Order

Oshkosh Corporation, a manufacturer of specialty vehicles and vehicle bodies, announced that its Defense division has received a delivery order valued at over $410 million from the RACOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) for the production and delivery of 2,634 Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) trucks and trailers for the U.S. Army. The vehicles will be delivered between March and December 2011.

Untill now, Oshkosh Corporation has received orders totaling over $690 million as part of the five-year FMTV requirements contract.

The corporation has signed the orignal contract with the Army on February 12 2010, with the first trucks scheduled to be delivered this month for performance and durability testing. The Production model will begin to be delivered in October 2010. The five-year, multi-billion-dollar contract includes the production of approximately 23,000 trucks and trailers, also including support and training serivce. The FMTV includes 17 models and 23 variatns, offering payloads between 2.5 and 10 tons.

Oshkosh Corporation has built a new 150,000 sq.-ft modern electrocoat (E-coat) facility in Oshkosh, Wiscousin, which is dedicated to the FMTV program and other future programs, with the site becoming operational in late summer 2010.

Bohn, Oshkosh Corporation chairman and chief executive officer. "We are closely engaged with the Army and moving forward on all necessary processes to maintain this schedule and deliver high-quality trucks and trailers to meet the Warfighters' needs."
