In oder to officially name itself, Opel has asked the prototype of the new city car to drive a special route round a German city. And as the GPS positioning reveals, it’s going to be called the Opel Adam.
If they make a convertible version of the car, which they probably will, can we call it the Eve?
Jokes aside, the Opel Adam is clearly named after the company founder. The car will be a direct rival for the Volkswagen Up and will also provide lots of customization options, like the Fiat 500.
The engine range for the car will most likely include a 1.0-liter three-cylinder unit. Euro 6 compatibility is a given, and so is stop-start, as well as other fuel saving measures.
Expect a full reveal of the car at this year’s Paris Motor Show in September, ahead of a European market debut in early 2013.
