Opel has initiated a teasing campaign for one of its exhibits for the upcoming 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
The German brand will exhibit the GT Concept at the Swiss event. Until then, all we have to show you is a teaser image of the logo and a teaser video. While the picture doesn’t show too much detail, the video published on the brand’s official YouTube channel features the brand’s CEO, Karl-Thomas Neumann, speaking about Opel’s future.

It has come to our understanding that Opel’s new concept will mark the entering of the next stage of the brand’s design philosophy. The exhibit will make many “take a look at Opel with a fresh pair of eyes,” the company’s CEO said in the video.

We believe the new concept is a great evolution of the previous Monza Concept. The car is bound to feature original design characteristics that will influence the brand’s future production vehicles.

The GT name has a strong legacy in Opel’s history, and the retro model is still regarded as one of the best designs of the German brand. We’re expecting Opel to showcase a 2+2 Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show. Like most concept cars, the Opel GT Concept might not get an actual production version, but it will undoubtedly inspire future vehicles coming from Russelsheim.

If you ask us what we hope to see, we’ll tell you we’re expecting a European version of Buick’s fabulous Avista Concept. After all, the exhibit received the EyesOn Design Award soon after its unveiling. This distinction is given to the best production and concept cars shown as a world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show.

The company states that the concept will be a “breathtaking and puristic sports car that expresses the continuous innovative strength and the new lifestyle of Opel.” On January 21, Opel will reveal more of its GT Concept, so watch this space next week!
