Not long ago we ran a story here on autoevolution centered on the best electric dirt bikes of the year. As you'd expect from such a piece, it was one filled with electron-powered wonders, many of them produced by companies that are just starting to build a name for themselves in this industry.
One of these companies is Belgium-based Trevor Motorcycles. You probably haven't heard about it yet, but if all goes according to plan, and the DTRe Stella motorcycle is a hit, that could quickly change.

The Stella is described as a premium electric bike, and it's built around a simple frame to which a 2.7 kW battery was attached. It can hold enough juice to travel for as much as 100 km (62 miles), and it sends electricity to a 15-hp brushless electric motor capable of pushing it to speeds of 90 kph (56 mph).

Until this week the DTRe Stella range comprised only the European spec bike, available on the Old Continent in two versions, road and dirt. As of now, however, the non-street legal two-wheeler is available for American riders as well.

In this configuration, the ride presents itself with the exact same specs mentioned above and adds on top of that a 1 kW hour external charger capable of getting the battery to full capacity in at most 70 minutes.

For the American market the bike is offered in the same white body as over in Europe, but Trevor does offer customers the chance to personalize their ride in pretty much any design imaginable.

As a side note, the limited real estate that makes up the bike's body is swappable, and that means you can get yourself an endless supply of bodies and design them any way you like. You just need to be willing to pay $900 for each of them.

The bike for the American market is already listed by Trevor on its website, with a starting price that's well below what it has to offer for people in Europe. More to the point, Trevor is selling this thing for $11,975, whereas the same bike can be had across the Ocean for €12,995, which translates into over $13,800 at today's exchange rates.

And that makes it clear the Belgians are gunning for a large piece of the American off-road bike market. The Trevor DTRe Stella may be for now the underdog of this segment, but given its minimalist design, its flat track appearance, and more than decent hardware and specifications, that'll probably not be the case for too long.

Yet, if you still find this bike not to be to your taste, you can have a look at fourteen others, listed in our Best Electric Dirt Bikes of 2023 coverage.
