After the German tuning outfit unveiled the 605 horsepower Novitec Tridente Maserati Quattroporte back in September, the company returns with a new package. Developed for the super sporty Ghibli executive sedan, the new tuning package applies to both diesel and petrol-fed Maserati Ghibli variants.
Founded in 1989 and gradually making a name for itself, the Novitec Group is now divided into three sub-brands. These are Novitec Rosso (for Ferrari cars), Novitec Torado (Lambo) and Novitec Tridente for everything Maserati-related. Needless to say this, but Novitec is a top dog in the tuning world. With that much street cred under its belt, what did the Tridente do to the Ghibli you can admire below?

Well, let’s start with the aesthetic end of the deal. That cool matte paint job can be adapted to the shade you like most, but the cherry on the top of the visual cake comes in the guise of four 22-inch wheels wrapped in sticky Pirelli P Zero tires for maximum attack on those epic mountainy twisties.

The five double-spoke rims can be painted polished titanium, titanium, matte black or silver

As for the rest of the exterior makeover, the Novitec Tridente Maserati Ghibli is boasting with a black front radiator grille and carbon fiber side skirts, boot lid spoiler, front lip and rear apron for even more visual drama. On the handling front, the tuning pack is offering several options for suspension enhancements, most notably adjustable dampers and a lowering spring kit.

Last but not least - the oily bits. In this regard, Novitec engineers developed new ECU software to hike the factory-spec figures. If you go for the 3.0 V6 twin-turbo diesel, the oomph is enhanced from 250 hp and 600 Nm to 301 hp and 680 Nm, equating to a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration of 5.7 seconds.

Opt for the entry-level 3-liter V6 petrol and 330 hp and 500 Nm become 384 hp and 590 Nm of torque, enabling a 5.2-second run to 100 km/h. The icing on the cake, however, comes in the form of the 409 hp 3-liter engine that boasts with 476 hp and 640 Nm of torque after that rather simple ECU reflash.

Although that doesn’t seem like much, modded rear-wheel drive models can sprint to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, while the Q4 all-wheel drive Novitec Tridente Maserati Ghibli gets there in a mere 4.5 seconds.
