Novitec Rosso Race 848 Presented Ahead Of Geneva Debut

For those who just can’t choose between German rigor and Italian passion when it comes to supercars, Novitec Rosso offers a pretty good solution: The Race 848 extreme supercar, due to be presented at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show. The Ferrari 599 GTB-based Novitec Rosso Race 848 puts 848 HP and 842 Nm at its driver’s disposal. The German tuning company has played serious games with the car’s V12 engine to offer these insane figures. The powerplant now uses two compressors delivering 0.48 bars of boost pressure. A new water-to-air intercooler, bespoke intake manifold, new injectors and a sport air filter have also been installed. In addition to that, the Race 848 features a stainless steel quad sport exhaust system. All these are coordinated by a new engine management system. The final result shows a 228 HP and 234 Nm premium over the stock car’s figures. The Race 848 deals with the first hundred in 3.4 seconds and 6.2 seconds later it crosses the 200 km/h mark. The car posts a 0-300 km/h time of 23.7 seconds and keeps accelerating until it reaches 345 km/h. The tuning house has developed an aerodynamic package which allows the car to handle properly at any speed. This comprises of a front spoiler lip, rocker panels featuring large brake cooling ducts, a rear diffuser and a rear spoiler. In order to cope with the new power level, the supercar uses a height-adjustable suspension that features a front-end hydraulic lift system. The latter raises the front of the car by 40mm at a push of a button, when obstacles or speed bumps are in the way. The braking system has also been upgraded and it now uses the largest brake components eligible for road use: 405 mm steel brake discs and six-piston calipers developed by Brembo. The bespoke creation rides on three-piece Novitec Rosso NF3 wheels (20 inch for the front axle and 21 inch for the rear one), wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires. The car’s matte-white contrasts with Grey accents such as roof and parts of the hood. In addition to that, the tuned Ferrari features black side markers and black tail lights. Only three examples of the car will be created - a special metal plate located in the interior of the car emphasizes this. Speaking of the car’s interior, this will be tailor made, featuring materials such as aluminum, leather and carbon fiber. autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
