When China first considered banning racy models from this year’s Shanghai Motor Show, the feedback clearly pointed out it was a bad idea. Sure, some could claim that hot women briefly dressed with tight skirts/shirts do in fact distract people from focusing on the new car models automakers unveil, but this wouldn’t be far from saying dancers distract the audience from hearing the lyrics in rap videoclips.
Yet, China is serious about it and officially confirmed earlier rumors the other day. The Organizing Committee of Auto Shanghai 2015 announced on Tuesday that it was canceling the appearance of models at this year’s upcoming event on April 22 because organizers want people attending the event to focus to the real stars of the show, the cars.
Hey, there’s nothing wrong with stating that any motor show is supposed to be about cars, yet do these people really believe it wasn’t about that already? I mean, you honestly believe that when Ford unveiled their new GT anybody in Detroit was looking at something other than the 600-horsepower twin-turbo V6?
Still, reports are the decision aims to restore the essence of the exhibition and re-focus on the technology and innovation in the automobile industry. We don’t know about you, but this news made us imagine a world where the music industry no more uses beautiful models.
Think of Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea, Beyonce, Rihanna and basically any pop singer out there suddenly losing their provocative outfits, firing their sexy dancers and keep themselves busy with only playing music. No more racy swimsuits, no more sexual positions on the scene, no more kisses between Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. No more of that, just music.
