Japanese automaker Nissan has announced that a brand new concept car will be unveiled during the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January.
The concept, which previews the company’s new design language, was teased at the Nissan 360 event in Irvine, California. Little is known about the study you’re about to see below, but rumors say it could very well be a preview of the eighth-generation Nissan Maxima since the company is working on a new model.

The teaser shots show a four-door sedan with a sloping roofline and blacked-out A-pillars. However, some of the cues are evolutions of the automaker’s current styling, such as the boomerang shaped head and taillamps or the front grille.

The current seventh-generation Maxima was introduced in 2008 and has gained a mild facelift for the 2012 model year.
