Nissan North America Names New Vice President for Marketing

In a bid to reshape their advertising strategy, Nissan North America Inc. (NNA) has just announced Jon Brancheau as the company’s new Vice President – Marketing - Nissan Division, effective immediately.

Prior to this decision, Jon Brancheau was director with Global Infiniti Marketing Communications and Media, where he managed strategic development and execution of Infiniti's marketing communications, brand management and strategy on a global scale.

"Jon Brancheau's work at Infiniti has demonstrated that he can effectively lead a Marketing organization through a critical launch cycle," said Brian Carolin, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing – Nissan North America. "In addition to managing the development of Infiniti creative for all markets worldwide, Jon was also the key architect for the Infiniti G and M global marketing plans which today are resulting in great success for that brand."

Before making the step in the Japanese car maker’s executive ranks, Jon Brancheau was a GM man. He began his career in 1984 with GM’s Cadillac division and worked his way up the corporate ladder until 2008, when he joined Nissan. With a 26-year automotive sales and marketing operations experience, Jon Brancheau held several important positions along the way, including: assistant brand manager to launch GM's Chevrolet Silverado; director of Marketing for GM's Service and Parts Organization; vice president of Marketing for Saab Cars USA and director of Marketing for Cadillac.

At Nissan, Brancheau will be responsible with the brand's marketing activities in the United States, including marketing communications, C&I, pricing and product management.

"I'm excited to lead Nissan's Marketing team as we have the opportunity for sustainable and predictable growth based on the strength of our product," said Brancheau. "With the launch of the zero-emission Nissan LEAF we have the opportunity to positively impact consumers' lives and the perception of the Nissan brand."
