Drag racing supercars can be extremely fun given all the attention these factory speed demons get, but today we're not here to bring you standard vehicles. Instead, we're dealing with two of supercars that come with aftermarket touches.
And this only makes things more interesting, since you never know what kind of ace such a machine can pack up its (cylinder) sleeve.

The straight line battle we're here to show you involves a Mercedes-AMG GT S and a Nissan GT-R. In theory, the Affalterbach supercar, which has been touched by Renntech, packs 612 hp. As for the Nissan, we're not sure who worked on Godzilla, but its driver explains the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 under the hood now allows him to control 590 ponies.

In real life, though, the only way to see how these two speed tools fair against each other is to throw a stretch of tarmac at them and allow the vehicles to stretch their mechanical legs.

With the action showcased in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page seeing the two duking it out on an airfield, there was plenty of space for the GT S and the GT-R to play.

As anybody who's seen enough drag races will tell you, trusting hp numbers of tuned machines usually doesn't work, so you shouldn't expect the difference between the two to be proportional to the hp gap separating them.

Since we're dealing with a twin-turbo vs. twin-turbo battle here, you can't expect too much from the aural side of the fight. As such, the fact that the Mercedes-AMG is used as the camera vehicle isn't too important, at least not from the decibel-related point of view. Head over to the "play" button below and you'll understand why this detail ended up being a relevant one after all.
