A drag race between the Nissan GT-R and the Ferrari 458 Italia is the kind that will keep the audience on their toes from start to finish, which is why we've brought along just such a thing for today.
It's worth noting that the two supercars could hardly be more different. The 458 uses a classic solution, sending the power from its mid-mounted naturally aspirated V8 to the rear wheels, while the twin-turbo V6-animated Godzilla comes with one of the most intelligent AWD system on the market.

Then again, both the Prancing Horse and the slice of Japan feature dual-clutch trannies and are able to deliver 11-second quarter-mile runs.

With the help of its ATTESA E-TS all-paw hardware, the Nissan halo car can deliver amazing takeoffs, without requiring too much effort from the driver in the process.

As for the 458 Italia (this is the derivative we have here), its rear-wheel-drive means getting off the line makes the car dependant on the surface and the atmospheric conditions.

However, the power-to-weight ratio of the Fezza easily dominates that of the Nissan, which means the V8 model will make up for the time lost at the starting line once the initial phase of the race is left behind.

Fortunately, the battle that brought us here took place at the drag strip, which means the two beasts kept things on the safe side, while also benefiting from the prepped surface of the track.

However, neither the 570 hp Ferrari, not the 530 hp GT-R performed to the full extent of their abilities, as indicated by their 1,320 feet times.

Keep in mind that the clock doesn't start ticking until the car gets off the line, which means that the ET (Elapsed Time) numbers delivered at the end of the battle don't take the reaction time into account. Spoiler alert: one of the drivers wasn't exactly up to the task.
