Ever since Mercedes-AMG introduced all-paw hardware on the previous generation of the E63 S, the Afflaterbach sedan became a fierce drag racing tool. And with the current generation of the super-sedan, things have only gotten better.
For instance, we're here to showcase a drag race between a 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 and a Porsche 911 Turbo S.

This is the outgoing 991.2 generation of the Neunelfer (by the way, here's a spy video of the next-gen 992 Turbo S), which means the 3.8-liter flat-six at the back of the thing delivers 580 horsepower.

As for the four-door devil, its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 comes with even more grunt, at it packs 612 ponies.

What do the numbers tell us?

We'll start with the quarter-mile sprint and let you know that the supercar is a mid-10s machine, while the super-sedan can play the 1,320-feet game in the low-11s range.

Then there's the standing kilometer - the Neunelfer can complete this task in 19.4 seconds, while the four-door monster needs 20.8 seconds for the job.

Returning to the sprinting action we have here, you should know that the Mercedes-AMG E63S and the Porsche 911 Turbo S got together during a drag racing event.

And it's worth mentioning that the velocity gathering saw the aficionado behind the wheel of the Merc making full use of the four-door beast's might.

For instance, the E63 S also duked it out with a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and a Lamborghini Aventador, the LP700-4 kind. However, not every hooner seemed to be up for the task, so some of these battles might leave you wishing for a driver mod.

Sure, perhaps a supercar driver might want to give the E63 S the hit to make sure the fight remains attractive until the finish line is crossed. Then again, given the velocity-savvy nature of the German super-sedan, this is a risky game to play.
