Nissan is currently working on a replacement for the 370Z sports car, with the vehicle set to follow the downsizing trend and also become lighter and more focused on going fast.
The new Z car will ditch the current model’s 3.7-liter V6 unit for a four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which should offer the same straight line performance, but return higher efficiency figures, all thanks to the fact that the overall package will be lighter.
Shiro Nakamura, head of Nissan Design, has reportedly stated that the a concept for the vehicle is already in the works and that this could come to an important international motorshow in 2014.
The aforementioned information has an important impact on another piece of Nissan sports car-related news, as the downsizing of the Z means that Nissan might not built the rumored 200SX revival after all, a vehicle that was supposed to be its answer to the Toyobaru project.
