South Korean manufacturer Kia plans to make the most of the exposure of the Nikita TV show on The CW Network and plans an offensive to coincide with the series' mid-season premiere.
The car maker announced today it had partnered with the television to become the sponsor of the show, receiving in return several perks, like in-show vehicle integrations, a three-part digital video series, a custom mobile app gaming experience and social networking elements.
The first car chosen to become a star in this better looking La Femme Nikita remake is the Optima, a vehicle which will be featured in the series in one of the future episodes. The show premieres on Thursday, January 27.
Until then, Kia will sponsor a side show called "Undercover Operations: Interviews with the cast of Nikita." The smartphone app "Nikita: Spy Training,” is also part of the partnership agreement signed between the car maker and the television.
"Kia Motors' highly acclaimed 2011 Sportage and Optima have been turning heads since their debuts and are a perfect match for innovative programs with a passionate fan base like Nikita," said Michael Sprague, Kia vice president marketing & communications.
"Attracting youthful audiences to the Kia brand in multidimensional ways is on target with our marketing launch efforts to drive brand excitement."
