While everybody may say that the current iteration of Volkswagen’s Scirocco is a nice looking car, we say that while it may look good from some angles, it looks odd and disproportionate from others - the rear three-quarter view, for instance, and VW could have done a lot more with the idea - they should have brought it closer to the original idea and look of the now-classic Scirocco.
However, while VW’s design policy may be somewhat strange, there are still people with vision out there. One such person is Marcus Classen, a design student from Germany, who is currently studying to get his Master’s Degree at the Royal College of Art, in London. He has come up with a much better looking concept for a new Scirocco than VW’s constrained and restrained designers ever could.
While these drawings may be a tad extreme and not fit for production, due to practical reasons, a more civilized and toned down version of this could feasibly enter production, and become a bigger cult icon than the current model ever could. It is quite sleek, with pronounced flanks, as well as a very nicely designed and integrated rear spoiler. VW should take a look at this and take notes!
