Custom painted helmets sometimes come with breathtaking designs that make us almost sad thinking about damaging them in a crash. Despite the fact that providing head protection is their job, seeing helmets such as Tecnoart Sersan's latest creation would rather make us get another lid and keep the painted one in the display case.
Having tied his art to the MV Agusta universe on so many occasions, it's not a surprise to see that Tecnoart Sersan's latest custom helmet also pays tribute to the house of Schiranna. However, even though MV Agusta's bikes are luxurious but not flamboyant, this lid will turn a lot of heads.
Tecnoart Sersan managed to create a design that's exceptionally cool without being flashy or overly assertive. It retains a massive dose of "technicity" that is somehow contrasting the company's warm, organic vibe.
This helmet also carries on the heritage of the Italian motorcycle maker as it speaks about MV Agusta land speed records, as well as the Isle of Man TT. The 10 June 1967 coincides with the period when the TT took place then, but MV Agusta's presence in that race with Giacomo Agostini was on the 14th.
On the technical side, the Tecnoart Sersan helmet is an HJC RHPA 10 lid, somewhat similar to the one the 2015 MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo wore during the previous season on his Yamaha. A sports helmet par excellence, the HJC RHPA 10 boasts a very advanced shell made from the company's proprietaru Premium Integrated Matrix compound, a material that mixes Carbon Fiber, Aramid, Fiberglass and Organic Non-Woven Fabric.
It also comes with a Pinlock-ready 2D Flat-Racing face shield, one-touch close/seal system, advanced ventilation and is both DOT- and SNELL-approved. The cheapest HJC RHPA 10 versions can be had in the US for as low as $400, but their value will skyrocket after Tecnoart Sersan's magic touch.
