The current generation X250 XF might look sleek and interesting, but this is an 8-year platform already. Don’t worry, because this year Jaguar plans to replace it with a new model, which is currently being field tested and we caught up with it again.
Our spy photographers have been following the next-generation Jaguar XF everywhere; from the hot Southern Europe, via high-speed testing on the Nurburgring, to the cold North, where the car is now being trialed to see how it copes with snow and ice. Here we are, Sweden.
The XF is now built on the stretched iQ[Al] platform used for the XE model and it should be available both as a sedan and wagon in April this year when it will make its first appearance at the New York Auto Show.
The car looks almost production ready under that camouflage, coming with a more chiseled body, having the rear end looking a bit more square-ish to give an overall wider stance, while the front comes with narrow LED headlights and a reworked grille.
There’s a laptop blocking the way, but it looks like the sedan also comes with a redesigned instrument cluster and a thicker steering wheel, probably inspired by the one on the F-Type.
Engine wise, the 2015 Jaguar XF could borrow the same lineup from now, including everything from four-cylinder turbocharged engines to the force-fed 5-liter V8 mill. Diesels will be part of the deal too as well as a plug-in hybrid which could come later on.
Looks to be a great sedan, but we’ll have to wait a bit more until Spring to see it in its full sheen.

Restyled dash
This time however, our shooters managed to get a clear frame with the dashboard of the new Jag, which appears to be similar in its overall shape with the current one, but with slight changes in the median part. For example, the infotainment screen looks to have been placed lower and the vents from its side got reunited and placed just above it.There’s a laptop blocking the way, but it looks like the sedan also comes with a redesigned instrument cluster and a thicker steering wheel, probably inspired by the one on the F-Type.
