A rather disturbing footage surfaced after the helmet cam of a rider in Newcastle, UK, managed to hamper an attempt to steal his motorcycle from right under his nose.
The motorcyclist was riding on the Coast Road near Billy Mill roundabout in North Shields, the Northumbria PD reports, when he pulled over to remove a bicycle that was blocking one of the lanes.
After stopping the engine of his bike, the rider did not remove the ignition key from his motorcycle as he strolled yards back towards the bicycle. The rider also declared that he first believed that the bicycle had fallen from one of the vehicles he saw had also stopped.
Later, he would learn that the driver had shared the same fate as him, and that he had already called the cops, some 20 minutes earlier.
However, back to the thieves' MO. As the rider was picking up the bicycle from the ground, looking for whoever might have lost it, one of the thieves approached his motorcycle, pushed the kickstand up and was already trying to make off with it.
The theft was interrupted as the rider confronted the culprits, but the weird things would not stop. After he informed the would-be thieves that his helmet cam was running, one of them tried to push his bike to the ground.
Frankly, it was so nice to see the rider throwing the bicycle at the aggressor, even though he could have used more force and aimed better, if you ask us.
The cops arrested a 24-year-old man "on suspicion of the attempted theft of a motorbike and causing danger to road users. He remains in police custody." An investigation was started and the Northumbria Police are asking for anyone with information to help clear this off.
Cops and cool or fists and blood, what would you choose in such a predicament?

Arrests were made later
Knowing that he had these guys filmed and in no immediate danger, the rider refrained from kicking some teeth in, and this time, we have to salute his wise and considerate decision. The cops arrested a 24-year-old man "on suspicion of the attempted theft of a motorbike and causing danger to road users.
