Royal Enfield, the maker of India's biggest displacement bikes, has announced the imminent release of their latest Bullet: the Bullet 500.
The new Royal Enfield Bullet 500 comes with Twin Spark ignition for its only 499cc cylinder and will offer some really nifty upgrades. While the first things which are to be seen are the aesthetic updates, the new Bullet 500 brings a lot of changes on the tech side.
The 4-stroke air-cooled engine now uses a throttle position sensor carb for better fuel efficiency and lag-free response. The power unit is said to deliver produce a little more than 26 HP and will be matched to a 5-speed (1 down, 4 up) and chain final transmission.
A telescopic fork and gas-charged dual rear shocks ensure damping while the tubular frame is made of steel. Still, the Bullet 500 comes with only one 280mm disc in the front, and an 153mm rear drum, so it's maybe next time when we'll get to see top-notch brakes.
Bullet 500 will also be available in green, with an updated badge and is supposed to come with a passenger backrest, too. The bike is as retro as it gets, and we liked it quite a lot. Royal Enfield has not announced any price for the new Bullet 500, but things are about to be clarified pretty soon.
