New Porsche to Be Unveiled at 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show

Porsche has announced it will bring a brand new world premier car, together with two US premieres to the LA Auto Show, taking place on November 17th. Announced as a “mid-engine sports car”, the new model will join the stunning 911 GTS and the 911 Speedster under the spotlight.

The new car in question is most likely the last version of the Cayman until it is replaced by a new model. Dubbed the Club Sport (or CS), it will be a retuned track-focused version of the Cayman, eagerly anticipated by enthusiasts. The CS badge should bring a considerable weight reduction, expected to be around 75 kg (170 lbs). The new sportscar should come with a 3.4-liter flat-six engine, delivering around 330 hp to the rear wheels via a limited slip differential. We can expect a new front bumper, sideskirts and ducktail-style rear spoiler to be added, as well as some optional safety features like a roll cage and harness.

Joining the new mid-engined sportscar will be the 911 Carrera GTS, a 408 hp, rear-wheel-drive grand master. The model comes with the same wide body as the Carrera4, together with a Porsche Intelligent Performance with PDK installed as standard.

Also present at this year’s LA Show will be the 911 Speedster, a limited edition car of which only 356 will be made. This rare Porsche offers a PDK gearbox, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). The production figure of 356 cars is meant to pay tribute to the legendary 356 Speedster.

The US is the most important market for Porsche, who has a total of 200 dealers spread across the country. The brand has a reputation of delivering not only fast sportscars, but also ones that are reliable and have great brand image.
