The Boxster is the car that saved Posche when it was first introduced. Some criticized it for being the 911 for poor people and for being girly. This third generation model is none of those things. It’s a proper sportscar with an extended wheelbase, a low ride hight and decent sprint performance.
As the new Boxster soft-top roadster makes its way to UK showroom, Porsche has stuck a price tag of £37,589 on the base Boxster and of £45,384 in the case of the more powerful Boxster S.
The cheapest car is powered by a 2.7-liter engine with 265 PS or 262 bhp. If fitted with a 3.4-liter boxer engine, the car gets 315 PS or 311 bhp. Both come as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox, with the seven-speed dual-clutch Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) available as an option.
