The 508 is a pretty curious car. It's classified as a large family car, but Peugeot markets it as an executive car "that really stands out from the crowd." Ahem, right. Nevertheless, the 508 is an interesting proposition in a segment that is dominated by German models. But the 508 is already four years old and Peugeot operated a nip and tuck job to freshen it.
And this is it, the mid-cycle facelift for the Peugeot 508. Furthermore, the French carmaker has also announced the prices and specifications for the U.K. market. Besides the visual changes in both exterior and interior design, the new 508 is also boasting with new, Euro 6 compliant engines, as well as new or improved technological features.

The updated model is available in three body styles - saloon, estate and the RXH. The RXH comes with a 2-liter BlueHDi 180 engine coupled to a six-speed automatic gearbox or in diesel-electric guise. The latter is called 508 RXH HYbrid4 and makes use of the aforementioned mill and a 37 hp electric motor.

RXH models are selling for £30,295 and £34,645, respectively, making them the most expensive in the range. But the least expensive saloon model, the 508 Active with the 1.6-liter e-HDi 115 micro-hybrid stop & start system and a six-speed stick shift, comes as low as £22,054, while the estate starts from £23,245. Some highlight features of the entry-level trim include sat nav, dual zone air conditioning, a 7-inch touchscreen media system, 18-inch alloys, rear parking assist and LED daytime running lights.

Step up to the 508 Allure and £24,895 or £26,295 for the estate will get you the same powerplant we detailed earlier, with the addition of front and rear parking aid, keyless entry, start/stop button, auto electric parking brake, Hill Assist, a handy parking camera and a trick panoramic glass roof, the latter being available only on the SW (estate variant).

If you need more but don't want the RXH model, then you have to step up to the 508 GT, which is coming only with a 2.2-liter HDi 200 turbo diesel mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. A color head up display, 19-inch rims and Nappa leather are added, but this configuration comes at a price: the sedan is priced at £30,645, while those that prefer the 508 GT estate will have to pay £32,045.
