Mercedes has a decent history with making camera cars. The ML is used by a number of movies, chased around by big dinosaurs, gunmen or aliens.
But we’d never have pictured the A-Class as a camera car, but that’s just what it’s been turned into for an interesting helicopter scene shot on some of Europe's most spectacular mountain roads.
Thus, a big and very expensive camera is fixed onto the bonnet of the car and controlled with complicated and advanced equipment by the cameraman in the driver’s seat. The helicopter chaser looks to be the top-of-the-line A 250 Sport, equipped with the same body panels, 7-speed DCT and sports suspension as next year’s A45 AMG. This fame AMG only has 211 PS at its disposal.
Female stunt driver Anni Nagel makes good use of that power and gives the helicopter a run for its money. Mind you, she flips cars on a regular basis, so it’s no big deal for her.
