The heavily revised Lexus LS has just gotten its official price tag for the UK, where it is now available for order, with deliveries starting in January 2013. It starts at £71,995, for the LS460 Luxury, but if you want the more desirable F-Sport model, you`ll have to pay an additional £2,500 to secure the privilege.
The top of the range model, the long wheelbase model, the LS600L Premier Grade will set you back £99,495, in hybrid form. However, the entry level ‘Luxury’ trim comes equipped with everything you could and would ever need in a car, a list which is so long, it`t not even worth mentioning.
In F-Sport trim, the car gains 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, a lateral damping system, limited-slip diff, tweaked suspension and both interior and exterior appearance. The top spec ‘Premium’ trim gets some rather far-fetched sounding gadgets, such as a ‘climate concierge’, which monitors facial temperature and adjusts the climate control accordingly.
We really struggle to understand why anybody would want any model aside from the basic ‘Luxury’ trim car, as it offers a lot more than most people will use anyway. However, since Lexus is preparing for the tsunami that is the all-new Mercedes S-Class, they`d better cram as much kit in as possible, to at least try to offset the fact that they have an old revamped car, going up against a reincarnation of the best and most appreciated luxury car on the market.
