Back in July, Ferrari decided to pull the plug on the New Stratos project, with the German company that put the project together being left alone in the dark. However, it seems that the latter is now ready to return to light.
The New Stratos uses the Ferrari F430 chassis as a base, with its carbon fiber body being built by Pininfarina. The project received full support by Ferrari, with Luca di Montezemolo, who was president when the car was released even test driving the car and coming up with positive conclusions.
However, the Prancing Horse withdrew its support and now doesn’t allow companies who work with Ferrari, such as Pininfarina, to build the car. However, according to Jalopnik, the Germans are now looking to develop a modern day version of the Alpine A110 Berlinette you see in the adjacent image.
Even though we would love to see such a car being brought to life, we can’t help but wonder what Renault thinks about this, since rumors about the carmaker bringing back the Alpine name have been more and more present in the headlines over the past year.
