New Audi RS6 Coming Sooner than Expected

The German Power War seems far from being over and we’d like to present you a piece of news that brings new info on one of its bravest soldiers. Actually, we are talking about the most powerful fighter (we are referring to the now-out-of-production generation) on the battlefield, the Audi RS6.

No, Audi hasn’t brought us any official info, so we’ll have to make due with a rumor. It seems that the current generation of the A6, could get an RS badge next year, as De Telegraaf reports. This means that the new RS6 will hit the streets one year earlier than it was indicated by previous media reports.

This is bad news... for BMW, who won’t get to enjoy the privilege of seeing Audi watching its upcoming M5’s game from the side. Yes, the Ingolstadt power crazy machine will arrive later than the Bavarian driving machine, which is expected to be launched in a few months’ time, but the time gap between the two will be smaller than it was initially expected.

We’ll have to open the bag of previous media reports to try to get an idea of what will power the new RS6. There are a few potential powerplant which could find their way under the car’s bonnet, with one of the most likely being the future V8 unit that Audi is currently developing together with Bentley.

As for the body of the car, Audi is expected to respect what has already become a tradition. In other words, the company should offer the RS6 in both saloon and estate configurations.
