This is the new TV advertisement for the 2012 Audi A5 which is worth your time of the day because it portrays evolution of both engineering and design for the Geman brand. It shows a 1920s concept that was engineered and designed using the streamline concepts of the time by Paul Jaray.
The clip was shot in Bohinj, Slovenia, which is an awesomely beautiful location by all standards. While directing this commercial Joachim Back and BBH London centered it around a song for Hans Christian Andrersen’s tale “The Ugly Duckling”.
The idea is basically that was misunderstood as being an ugly car at the time, has transformed today into a svelte, beautiful A5 coupe/swan.
Editor's note: The A5 used to be their best looking car, but the facelift failed!
