With all those 1,000+ hp Supras we’ve seen so far running on high octane, boost and nitrous oxide, let’s release the pressure a bit and have a look at the non-turbo version of the legendary Japanese coupe.
The Toyota Supra 2JZ-GE is the most common version, using the same 3-liter straight-six cylinder engine but without the turbo to boost its power output. In this form, the 2JZ was making only 220 hp and around 220 lb-ft of torque. Not much for a Supra, but with some money spent on the right parts you can make it push around 500 hp to the rear wheels.

There are few enthusiasts who would give attention to the base version of the Supra and Brendan, the owner of this red beauty in the gallery bellow, decided to give it a shot some time ago when he was looking for a project car.

The Supra’s tuned engine now makes 40 whp more than in stock mode, thanks to some custom made individual throttle bodies, an AEM Infinity engine management system, Fidanza lightweight flywheel, a Fujitsubo Super Ti cat back exhaust system and more.

For the exterior, he went with a Platinum VIP custom metal widebody, Toxic Tails LED stoplights, an APR GT-500 wing, Modelista Designs’ lightweight vented hood and a set of 18-inch Work Equip wheels.
