NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart to Present Stewie Awards

The 2009 edition of the Stewie Awards will be presented on December 3 by two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Tony Stewart, in a two hour event which will be broadcasted live on SIRIUS XM Radio.

Stewart will be accompanied by Matt Yocum from the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The event will feature interviews with the 2009 champion and drivers in the Chase, as well as with special guest stars.

"We had so much fun doing this show the last two years that we decided the season just wouldn't be complete without handing out a few more Stewies," Stewart said. "Matt and I are thrilled to team up with SIRIUS XM for another event and to be able to do it in one of the most exciting cities in the world will be awesome."

"They say, 'What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.' Not in this case. SIRIUS and XM listeners around the country can tune in live to check it all out."

The event will honor highlights in the 2009 season as follows:

  • Feels Like The First Time Award – most notable first in NASCAR
  • Best Original Drama - the most exciting race moment
  • Best Original Comedy - the most entertaining incident
  • Best Vocal Performance - most memorable quote
  • Smokey Yunick Award – most creative and illegal modifications to a race car
  • Bonehead Move of the Year Award
  • I Got Dumped Award – most memorable on-track bumping
  • Hal Needham Award – most spectacular crash
  • Best Driver2Crew Chatter Exchange
  • Golden Stewie Award - honoring a legendary driver from the Golden Era of racing
  • Stewie Lifetime Achievement Award

The show will be broadcasted, as said, on SIRIUS XM Radio on December 3, on SIRIUS channel 128 and XM channel 128.
