Differentiating the model line-up and expanding the existing range turns out very good results for MV Agusta, the latest sales figures indicate. The Italian manufacturer of high-performance sport bikes and aggressive naked machines posted 2013 sales with a solid 20% increase over the 2012 figures, but things don’t stop here.
MV Agusta has also revealed that sales in the first quarter of 2014 have also increased by a whopping 22 percent quota over the same period of the previous year, proving that the new direction of the Varese company is the right one. The sales increase was driven mostly by the new 800 models, Rivale 800 and Brutale 800 Dragster, offering plenty of motorcycle for affordable prices.

Both the European and the Italian markets have seen an increase in the number of registered models, and MV Agusta is already enjoying a 10% market share, with the two aforementioned models selling in far greater numbers than what the manufacturer had expected initially.

Speaking about the rumors of Fiat buying MV Agusta, the company CEO Giovanni Castiglioni denies that such talks have taken place or have even been considered: “Moreover, I'd like to take this opportunity to deny rumours circulated by the media over the last few days concerning supposed negotiations vis-à-vis the sale of a share of MV Agusta to the Fiat-Chrysler Group. No such negotiations are taking place, nor have they ever done so. My goal is to ensure MV Agusta maintains significant levels of growth while remaining a family business that draws on the incredible passion my father passed on to me and my collaborators; it is a passion that still inspires us to design and build genuine two-wheeled gems”.

Whether this will still be true in half a month or more remains to be seen, but meanwhile, we are happy to see MV Agusta doing better.
