MV Agusta announces that it is now taking orders for the limited edition F4 RC (Reparto Corse) superbike, a machine which has been teased for some time now. We reported on previous occasions on the imminent release of the F4 RC, but all the media got was a few photos, so watching Leo Camier advertising the bike in the video after the jump is a most welcome way to increase the interest in this special bike.
We knew that MV Agusta has worked hard to make a lighter bike, and the use of high-tech materials allowed the Schiranna manufacturer to save a lot of weight. No less than 3.6 kg (8 lb) have been saved thanks to using carbon fiber for the fairing, titanium for bolts and wherever possible, while even the crankshaft was lightened by a decent 487 grams (more than a pound).

Titanium, magnesium, carbon and a racing kit

All in all, the new MV Agusta F4 RC comprises 333 titanium bolts, 250 manufactured parts, 11 magnesium covers and 11 components made from the same material. These exclusive features will be accessible only to 250 lucky customers, as MV Agusta plans to offer the F4 RC in a limited run. Each bike will come with a certificate of authenticity signed by MV Agusta CEO Giovanni Castigloni and a very special racing kit, as we already told you.

Basically, getting an F4 RC will provide you a killer street machine AND a praiseworthy track motorcycle, as turning it into a racing beast is easy and will also provide extra power. In street guise, the MV Agusta F4 RC packs 205 horsies, arguably overkill for “civilian purposes”. However, installing the racing kit parts provided will boost the max power to 212 HP.

Feats derived from Leon Camier’s actual racing bike

The 250 customers lucky enough to claw an F4 RC will also benefit from more componentry derived directly from Leon Camier’s race bike. These include M50 Brembo monoblock calipers, Öhlins suspensions, Termignoni exhausts and a quick release tank cap. The customized team heat covers and data acquisition kit remain off-limits. However, customers can add their own racing numbers on the top fairing and on the tail section, as per WSBK regulations.

User-adjustable electronics offer top-level control over the bike, with 4 mapping and 8-mode traction control, as well as the possibility to adjust multiple variables, such as throttle sensitivity, maximum torque, engine brake, engine response and rev limiter. Of course, the bike comes with a quickshifter. MV Agusta F4 RC can be ordered now if you feel like spending €36,900 ($) on a WSBK-spec machine was the one thing to make you happy.
