Mulally Hugs Marchionne [Short Disturbing Video]

The Walter P. Chrysler Legacy Gala held this weekend was an event at which most of the American automotive execs who are somebody went to honor their predecessors. It was a time of admiration, a time of worship if you like for icons like Lee Iacocca, Jay Leno, Richard Petty and Virgil Exner.

It was also the perfect moment to share some manly, auto exec love. Forget the competition, forget sales numbers, future models and industrial espionage. Auto execs are human after all. Why can't they have a moment?

A moment is exactly what Ford's Alan Mulally shared with Chrysler-Fiat's Sergio Marchionne. A brief slip of the conscious mind which turned into a cute, fluffy hug. A hug from the back, given by Mulally to Marchionne.

It all went down after the Italian executive spoke with admiration in his voice about Ford's financial achievements. The Ford exec apparently couldn't restrain himself from giving Marchionne a nice, big hug when hearing words like “spectacular,” “envious” and “jealous” coming out of the mouth of the Italian rival.

Mulally's gratitude manifested itself a bit like this: a warn hand placed on Marchionne's right shoulder, followed by a jerk to the back of the Italian's body, pigmented by Mulally's head coming down slowly on Marchionne's left shoulder...

Now, we don't know how Marchionne felt about it, but his face kinda' spelled a bit of fear. As you'll see in the video below, after the manly exec hug, UAW's new president, Bob King, steps into the picture with a very, very disturbing look on his face...
