Seeing motocross riders jump high into the air is of course, fun, but they have to know very well how far are they going to fly... because they have to land on a downward slope, while coming down on level ground is already bad and dangerous.
Now, form time to time, some guys get a bot carried away and sometimes they misjudge their jumps. Landing on an uphill slope is probably one of the worst nightmares these riders can think of. Such a misfortune would easily rival riding a motorbike fast directly into a concrete wall... and one doesn't necessarily have to be a rider to figure out that's really bad.
This rider is lucky, as he closely misses the uphill slope; however, he loses control of the bike and crashes several feet further on. He's lucky again, as we say ribs breaking after such impacts. It's most likely that he was ever so glad to wear his chest armor, for sure.
