Mosley to Write "Explosive" Memoirs Soon

Now that he is no longer linked with the world of Formula One – for the first time in more than 40 years – Max Mosley revealed he will soon focus on writing his memoirs. Having gone through practically all the stages of Formula One racing since he first debuted in the series back in 1966 – race driver, team manager, FIA president – the 69-year old is convinced he'll have plenty of stories to tell in his book.

The fact that Mosley's book will be a best seller it's not something that we doubt ourselves, especially considering his tumultuous last couple of years. The sex scandal he has been involved in last year – Mosley told the media last year that he already knows who was the man that set him up, promising the media he'll reveal the truth “some day” – and the recently finalized breakaway saga are at least two reasons why any F1 fan out there would die to get his hands on the book.

They will have plenty of very funny and explosive stories in them,” insisted Mosley. However, he did not reveal a date (or year) for launching his book.

In the meantime, the Formula One Teams Association have issued a quick statement on Thursday, regarding the upcoming elections for the FIA presidency. Although Mosley made it very clear yesterday that the teams will not have a saying in choosing his replacement in the FIA seat, the FOTA made public their position on the matter.

We would like to see someone independent, perhaps independent from any of us, either currently or historically. It would mean a much better balance,” said FOTA vice-chairman and Toyota president John Howett after the FOTA meeting in Bologna.

Elections for the presidency of the FIA are to take place in October this year, with the winner being elected by the Paris federation's 122 member clubs. Until now, no candidates have announced their desire to run for the aforementioned mandate.
