Mitsubishi Triton, Official RACQ Vehicle

The Royal Automotive Club of Queensland (RACQ) announced it has selected the Mitsubishi Triton as utility vehicles, to be used in aiding stranded motorists. In all, there will be no less than 90 fully kitted-out Tritons, equipped to RACQ specifications.

The Triton offers us all the power and durability we need to bring roadside assistance to anyone, anywhere,” John Hamilton, RACQ executive manager of roadside assistance said in a release.

The Tritons come equipped with 2.5l common rail diesel engines, delivering 134 horsepower at 3,800 rpm and 314 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. The cars come fully loaded with safety equipment, including RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body system with front crumple zones, side intrusion bars, dual front driver SRS airbags, ABS braking and seatbelt pre-tensioners.

No vehicle is better suited to the role of roadside assistance than the durable and hardy Triton utility. With power, efficiency and style, the Triton can tackle any situation, on and off the road,” Iaen Paul, Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited head of fleet sales added.

Apart for the 2.5l engine version to be used by the RACQ, Mitsubishi is also offering in Australia four other engine choices: 2.4l petrol and 3.5l V6 petrol for the 4X2 Triton and 3.5l V6 petrol and 3.2l CDI diesel for the 4x4, cab chassis, pick-up or dual cab body variants.

All the Tritons, including those to be used to help out troubled motorists, are covered by a 10 year / 160,000 km non-transferrable drive-train warranty, five year / 130,000 km new vehicle warranty and five year roadside assist.
