Milka Duno Secured Full-Time Indy Deal with Dale Coyne Racing

The world of IndyCar is to about to experience a premiere during the 2010 season of the series, as this will be the first year in the championship's history when 5 women will compete on full or part-time schedule throughout the duration of the same campaign.

Also, it will be the first time when the season opener will have 4 female racers at the start, after Venezuelan driver Milka Duno announced she had secured a full-time deal with Dale Coyne Racing for the 2010 season of the IndyCar Series. Unlike in previous years, when she did selected rounds with SAMAX or Dreyer & Reinbold, the 2010 season will see Duno at the start of each race.

“For the past three seasons I've only run partial schedules and I'm anxious to be competing in all the races this year. Doing so builds momentum and maintains consistency that I feel is a key factor to good results,” said Duno.

“The full schedule includes seven races at tracks that I have yet to compete on so I will be doing my absolute best to learn these new tracks as quickly as possible. This full season will be challenging - but I'm very thankful for the opportunity,” added the Venezuelan driver.

While enthused for signing Duno for a full campaign in 2010, the team's boss Dale Coyne admitted he is yet to decide on the Venezuelan's teammate for the upcoming campaign. Most likely, the team will go for Indy Lights champion JR Hildegrand, whom they've tested at Sebring last month.

Apart from Duno, we have two more female racers competing a full-season in the 2010 IndyCar, in the persons of Danica Patrick (Andretti Autosport) and Simona de Silvestro (HVM Racing). In addition, we gave Ana Beatriz, the Brazilian driver that secured a one-off with Dreyer & Reinbold for the season opener in Sao Paolo and is looking for sponsorship to confirm a full-time spot in 2010, and also Sarah Fisher, the Indy veteran who will do selected events with her own team in 2010.
