Microsoft to Sponsor Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011

With just a few days left until this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed kicks off, a new sponsor decided to use the event to promote its products: Microsoft. The company will use the Supercar Run through to build awareness around The Collection from Windows 7.

Specifically, the latest Windows 7 PCs will be paired with state-of-the-art supercars, and visitors will be able to experience them at a dedicated stand hosted inside the Supercar Paddock. Naturally, experts will be on hand to advise on the best PC for them.

Each season the Collection will feature around 30 best-in-class PCs running Windows 7 across five categories, to suit individual needs, lifestyles and budgets. Whether it’s the best PC for film, music, gaming, or fashion, each collection will showcase the latest innovation in design, performance and colour across multiple form factors - laptops, desktops, tablets and all-in-ones – from all hardware manufacturers.

“There is great synergy between the latest collection of supercars and The Collection from Windows – both deliver on speed, performance and style. And just like buying a car, the decision is not an easy one - it’s important to get it right,” said Leila Martine Director, Windows Consumer - Microsoft UK.

“Goodwood is delighted to announce that its popular Supercar Run will now be presented by Microsoft Windows 7, The Collection. The rare opportunity to see the worlds’ fastest and greatest supercar in action as part of the Windows 7 Supercar Run is one of the Festival of Speed’s top attractions. Supercars due to be seen in action at Goodwood for the very first time this year include the new Ferrari FF, Lamborghini Aventador, Pagani Huayra and Hulme Can Am Spyder,” added Gary Axon, Motorsport Press and PR Manager from Goodwood.
