Michelin Primacy MXM4 Luxury Touring Tire Launched

Tire manufacturer Michelin has just announced the launch of a new all-season product developed especially for luxury vehicles. Dubbed Primacy MXM4, the tire provides a shorter stopping distance (up to 19 feet) thanks to a new tire compound made of natural sunflower oil.

The Helio compound delivers increased traction at low temperatures for braking and handling in wet conditions and better overall performance in the snow.

The new Primacy MXM4 offers 12 replacement market sizes with rim diameters ranging from 16- to 19-inch. In addition, it meets the Michelin Green X standard.

Starting July 9, consumers with smart phones may scan the Quick Response (QR) code and see the Primacy MXM4 tire in action. The manufacturer warns that in some cases, it may be necessary to open a smart phone's browser to download a free reader app (upcode.mobi) or search for QR reader application.

"The right tire can make a difference in enhancing a luxury vehicle owner's driving experience," Don Byrd, marketing VP at Michelin NA, said in a release. "Providing a tire like the new Primacy MXM4 allows us to deliver exceptional performance to match their needs, without having to sacrifice what is important to them."

The new tire also uses other innovative Michelin technology like 3-D Variable Thickness Sipes for precision handling and MaxTouch Construction for improved longevity. The new tire also meets the Michelin Green X standard for superior energy efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions.

Primacy MXM4 has seven original equipment fitments on the road that are listed below:

  • 2011 Infiniti M37
  • 2011 Infiniti M56
  • 2010 Mercedes-Benz E350 Sedan
