Mercedes has apparently become bored with the look of the ML 63. As a result, the German company has released a minor exterior update for the performance SUV.At the front of the vehicle, Mercedes has fitted a revised bonnet, which features power domes, as well as darkened bi-xenon headlamps with active light function.
The same darkening effect has been used for the SUV’s tail lamps, which incorporate clear lenses and LED technology.
“The subtle changes to the exterior coordinate perfectly with the high-gloss, chromed front and rear underguard, and afford the ML 63 AMG an even more powerful and distinctive appearance,” stated the press release.
The vehicle’s engine compartment has been left untouched, so customers will get the same 6.3 liter V8 developing 510 hp at 6,800 rpm and 630 Nm of torque. The naturally aspirated powerplant pushes the ML past the 100 km/h (62 mph) mark in 5 seconds flat and offers it a top speed of 250 km (electronically limited).
The unit is mated to the same AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic automatic transmission and sends its power to the road via a permanent all wheel drive system the sends 60 percent of the power to the rear axle.
The AMG version of the ML features a sports suspension based on the Airmatic air suspension, ADS adaptive suspension and a generously sized braking system that features internally ventilated and perforated rotors all-round.
The updated Mercedes ML 63 AMG is already available for order, with the first deliveries scheduled for next month. The “go-fast” SUV can be yours for a price of EUR105,077 ($125,536).
