Mercedes Japan has just announced yet another special edition model for the local market. This time, they've taken a crack at adding value to the SLK roadster.
Limited to only 100 examples, the SLK 200 Radar Safety Edition is priced at JPY6.33 million and is based on the SLK 200 model, meaning power comes from a 1.8-liter turbo engine good for 184 PS and 270 Nm of torque.

The special edition comes with standard AMG Sport package. The cabin features a combination of Bengal Red Nappa leather and black trim.

But you can't have the Radar Safety Edition without radar, so the SLK is equipped as standard with the Radar Safety Package (Brake Assist Plus, Blind Spot Assist, PRE-SAFE Brake, Lane Keeping Assist).

Just for reference's sake, we'll just say JPY6.33 million is €47,855 at today's exchange rate. That's a lot to pay for a base model roadster.
