Mercedes-Benz has announced it is introducing an exceptional range of products to mark the 125th birthday of the motor car. Highlights include specially created for the occasion, top-class models of legendary vehicles produced by the Stuttgart-based premium brand and other unusual, high-quality accessories that reflect the 125 year history of the inventor of the motor car.
The scale models are done in the 1:43 scale and serve to recreate certain milestone vehicles from the company’s history, including the 1886 Benz Patent Motor Car - the first motor car in history, the 1902 Mercedes Simplex – a car that featured the essential components of a modern car, and the stunning 1936 Mercedes-Benz 500 K Special Roadster.
Post war models included in the collection are the ever inspirational 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe, the 1972 S-Class, which pioneered a number of technologies, and the contemporary CLS.
Mercedes says that only 1,250 of each will be made, making the models highly sought-after among collectors and fans of the brand. They will come in a special packaging along with a booklet on the history of the model and a metal badge featuring a serial number. Each car model retails for €49.90, the equivalent of$72 at today’s exchange rate.
Alongside the selection of car models, the ‘Mercedes-Benz 125! years of innovation’ selection includes other products which stylishly mark the 125 year anniversary. These cover a polo shirt, a cap, a silver-plated key ring and a mug in exclusive Ritzenhoff design. Recurring features include a black, white and silver colour scheme and the “125! years of innovation” logo.
