Mercedes Benz has begun the reveal process that will end with the CLA compact saloon being revealed at the Detroit Motor Show in January next year.
These photos and video are first of their kind, revealing details about the new 4Matic drivetrain that will provide variable torque delivery to all four wheels. And yes, that does mean 4Matic will be available even for the ‘standard’ sedan, not just the mental CLA 45 AMG.

Daimler has not shared this information via an official channel yet, but these photos from German magazine Mercedes-Benz Passion. However, Mercedes will probably spill the beans in a couple of weeks from now... officially that is.

The CLA is, as you all know, a sedan derived from the new A-Class hatchback, aimed its future Audi rival and the US market to some degree.

As for the CLA 45 AMG, that will surely offer the same highly tuned 2-liter engine as the A 45 AMG, producing 350 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Expect 0 to 62 mph to come up in about five seconds.
