Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren 722 Engine Revs

The world is filled with cars that excite you in slightly different ways. On one hand, you have traditional mid-engned supercar that are pointy and dart from corner to corner, and then there are the exotic GTs and berlinettas of the world.
This is probably one of the best of the latter category, a veritable road rocket that will pulverize your liver and pop your eyeballs. The car might belong to the old guard since its five years old but it still deserves royal status, with only a few modern cars surpassing its output.

The Mercedes Benz SLS 722 Edition was built to commemorate the unforgettable victory achieved in 1955 by the British motor-racing legend Stirling Moss in the 300 SLR of that time. The ‘722’ indicates the start of the famous race which took place at 7:22 in the morning.

Only 150 models were produced, all powered by a 5.5-liter V8 supercharged to produce 650 hp. This one made its way to American shores and was recently filmed by CarsandCoffeeIrvine in California. For such a rare car (25 were delivered to the US) it’s being enjoyed to its fullest.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
