The recently-facelifted Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is off to a very good start in terms of both sales and reception, with a number of active safety features that were never-before-seen in the large van segment.
The owners of the non-facelift version don't seem to sit on the same puffy-white clouds though, at least when talking about the models built between 2 September 2009 and 10 February 2011, which are about to receive a massive recall.

According to MB Passion, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinters affected by the recall have some faulty welding spots around the rear suspension.

The welding spots themselves may develop premature cracks, which could result in... well, let's just say that bad things happen if the rear suspension fails.

The exact number of affected models hasn't been released so far, so we don't know if the US-bound Sprinters will be recalled as well. Stay tuned for more information about the recall in the upcoming days.
