Now that spring is no longer around the corner but it has already entered the premises, Mercedes-Benz has decided to bring its two roadsters back into the spotlight by releasing two new special edition versions for each one.
We are of course talking about the SL Roadster (R231) and the SLK Roadster (R172), with each receiving not one but two Edition models.

Both the Mercedes-Benz SL 2LOOK Edition and the SLK CarbonLOOK Edition come with special appointments when it comes to their exterior and interior designs.

The SLK CarbonLOOK Edition features the AMG bodykit, AMG 5-spoke light-alloy wheels in titanium grey, dark surroundings for the headlights, rollover protection bars with anodized aluminium, a sports suspension that has been lowered by 10 millimiters and a larger braking system with perforated discs at the front for all four-cylinder versions.

The Interior comes with a two-tone upholstery in black nappa leather and designo titanium grey pearl with lime green piping. The head restraints are embossed in embossed carbon fiber look, while the AMG trim in genuine carbon fiber and velour floor mats with lime green edging and Edition logo complete the sportier impression.

A checkered flag instrument cluster, heated seats and the AirScarf system are also in standard, with the Edition being available for the SLK 200, SLK 250, SLK 350 and SLK 250 CDI versions for a price between EUR 6426 and EUR 6902 (including VAT), depending on the engine choice.

The SLK 55 AMG also receives the optional CarbonLOOK and is further distinguished by certain high-gloss black inserts on the sides of the front AMG apron, the vario-roof, the spoiler lip, the exterior mirror housings and the fins on the wings, while the 18-inch AMG 10-spoke rims have a high-sheen flange and are painted matte black. The extra price for the SLK 55 AMG CabronLOOK Edition is EUR 6962 (including VAT).

The Mercedes-Benz SL 2LOOK Edition features a rather interesting play of light and dark in terms of colors.

The standard paint finish is light, such as designo magno cashmere white, designo diamond white bright, tenorite grey or iridium silver, while the vario-roof comes in high gloss black unless the customers desires it in the body color. The 19-inch light-alloy wheels come in either multi-spoke or AMG 7-twin-spoke design and are painted in high gloss black with a high-sheen finish.

In the interior, the light and dark play continues, as the seats feature a longitudinal piping design in black nappa leather and inserts of designo nappa leather in platinum white pearl. The armrests feature a contrasting designo platinum white pearl color, while the two-tone design steering wheel completes the night/day atmosphere.

The SL 2LOOK Edition is already available for V6 and V8 models for an extra charge of EUR 9877 (including VAT).

Available from June 2014, the SL 63 AMG and SL 65 AMG 2LOOK Edition feature a an extra hint of high-gloss black on certain bits from the exterior, while the AMG sports seats come with an AMG-specific diamond pattern in Exclusive nappa leather and contrasting trim in designo platinum white pearl nappa leather.

Interestingly, the additional cost for the 2LOOK Edition if you buy an SL 63 AMG will be EUR 9401, while the SL 65 AMG customers will shed only EUR 5355 (including VAT).
