Mercedes-Benz is expanding the range of services offered to truck customers, as the company is introducing the TruckMobility package that provides complete breakdown assistance for truck tractors and trailers.The pack is available in Basic and Premium versions.
The Basic package includes, services like on-site assistance in the event of a breakdown, towing service, a replacement vehicle, and transport of the driver and passenger to the replacement vehicle’s location.
The Premium package includes all that and adds the logistics service including arrangements for reloading the freight, the tire service, and organization of legal assistance. It also covers overnight lodging and travel costs. The services are available in connection with the complimentary MercedesServiceCard.
The mobility package is offered for vehicles belonging to the Actros, Atego and Econic ranges that are up to eight years old and have a mileage that doesn't exceed 1 million km. The service also applies to semi-trailers, superstructures and trailers attached to the truck.
Customers can choose to sign a contract with a duration between one and three years, with a Starter package being offered from 500 Euro.
The new TruckMobility services are being offered initially only on the German market, but customers can benefit from assistance in 40 European countries. The company will expand the range of customer countries in the future.
“Thanks to an extensive, Europe-wide service network, which is available around the clock, the mobility service helps to keep vehicle downtime to a minimum. This is the first time Mercedes-Benz has offered this service on such a scale to truck customers,” stated the press release.
