There has been a lot of talk in recent months about the possibility - and even probability – for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class to get a fifth (or sixth, considering the recent C-Class Long version, ed) body version in the upcoming years.
With the C-Class W205 sedan already launched, the S205 T-Modell station wagon nearly here, a C205 Coupe and A205 Cabriolet on the way, a four-door coupe a la CLS/CLA would make the most sense from a marketing point of view, but aforementioned rumors keep mentioning a liftback version to actually be the one in the planning.

Self-proclaimed “automotive manipulator” Theophilus Chin had already made a rather good-looking rendering of how such a C-Class variant could end up looking like back in December 2013, but this time he made another one.

The newer version looks just as tidy and is following the same “elongated hatchback” idea, but instead of using the taillights from the C-Class sedan, Theophilus decided to make a more fastback rear and transplant the narrow strip rear lights from the recently-unveiled Concept Coupe SUV.

The result isn't half-bad looking, as expected, but we are still hoping that the actual fifth member of the C-Class family won't have a hatch at the rear. Plus, a slightly more coupe-ish greenhouse to body ratio, like a true coupe, wouldn't hurt either.

If such a model will arrive in the next two years, expect it to want a slice of the rather small market that currently consist of the Audi A5 Sportback and the BMW 3 Series GT and 4 Series Gran Coupe.
